What good AI training should cover
- Safety first. What stays out of AI: personal data, regulated records, and anything your contracts protect.
- Choosing the right tool. Usually the one your organization already uses or has approved: Copilot, ChatGPT, Claude, Grok, Gemini or another.
- A working tool at the end. Each person should leave with something built around real work, not just a slide deck.
Free and funded options in Indiana
Start here if you want a no-cost introduction. These are run by other organizations, and each sets its own schedule and requirements.
- Ivy Tech AI Essentials workshops: free Google AI Essentials sessions at Ivy Tech campuses around the state.
- IU GenAI 101: a free, self-paced online course from Indiana University's Kelley School of Business.

When private, hands-on training fits
Free courses teach the general idea. Private training works on your own tools, your own work, and the rules your work already sits under, whether that is FERPA, HIPAA, donor privacy, or customer data. It fits when a team needs to use AI safely on real tasks next week.
